Harassment Restraining Order Win 012624

Man Pointing At Another Man Aggressively

Attorney Lynne Torgerson won a harassment restraining order in St. Louis County, State of Minnesota.  The respondent, Ms. Torgerson’s client, and his wife were in a bar.  The respondent’s wife found a wallet on the floor, evidently because the owner thereof was intoxicated.  Upon finding the owner of the wallet, the wife returned it.  The owner of the wallet thanked the wife.  The wife invited the owner of the wallet to meet her husband.  The owner of the wallet began engaging in improper racial overtones, not liking the race of respondent and his wife.  The owner of the wallet then attacked the wife, grabbed her hair, and forcibly yanked wife down to the floor.  The husband, Mr. Torgerson’s client, honorably defended his wife from the assault.  The owner of the wallet finally relented.  Subsequently, astonishingly, the owner of the wallet sought a harassment restraining order against Ms. Torgerson’s client.  The owner of the wallet was so drunk that she could not remember she had assaulted the wife.  Fortunately, everything was on video, and showed that the owner of the wallet unjustifiably attacked the wife.  The harassment restraining order was dismissed.  Well done Ms. Torgerson.
